I’ve used quite a few “phrases” to describe Sleigh Bells to my friends in the past. Favorites include:
-what Crystal Castles would sound like if Alice stopped screaming and Ethan’s beats got grittier
-being stuck in a vortex of distorted bass while strolling down the sidewalk on a sunny day
-DO I NEED TO GET NEW SPEAKERS?!?! oh wait… nope, now I get it
Anyway. I finally got around to receiving the new(ish) Sleigh Bells, “Tell ‘Em”, which, again, does not disappoint. The song is numero uno on the new album (which is set to be out May 18) and has successfully been my jam for about a week now. Unfortunately, when looking at the track listing for their debut album, I noticed a few of my fave SB jams missing so below I’ve included 1) my favorites that are on the album and 2) my favorites that are not. All I have to say is: if you haven’t heard of Sleigh Bells yet (or if you dislike their music), then I have no idea how to communicate with you. So, get on this shit.
